BHC is very fortunate and grateful to have been a partner for Capital One’s ‘One Week’ for company volunteerism.  Capital One organized four separate volunteer projects May 16-20, all designed to improve the lives of BHC residents.

To kick off the week, Capital One constructed a bocce ball court and horseshoe pit for our senior residents at Carter Woods.  The new recreational area has already become a popular place for residents to gather, socialize, and enjoy the outdoors.  Senior residents in all BHC communities will also enjoy care packages assembled by Capital One; young residents will receive packages with fun school supplies.

Nearly 40 Capital One volunteers spent an afternoon painting fences and porches at St. Andrew’s Townhomes, giving the community a nice face lift.  To finish the week, volunteers landscaped the community gardens at Winchester Greens.  Two chilren “adopted” their own plot of land and were already planting vegetables before the volunteers left for the day.  Prior to One Week, Capital One volunteers painted fences at Jefferson Mews in Church Hill.

As a Capital One Investing for Good award recipient, BHC thanks Capital One for their leadership and support in making our communities even better places to live.
