YMCA to operate programs at Mary Tyler McClenahan Child Development Center

The YMCA of Greater Richmond became the child care services provider at the Mary Tyler McClenahan Chidcare Center at our Winchester Greens community in Chesterfield County this week.  Named for our co-founder, the center will be called the YMCA Mary Tyler McClenahan Child Development Center.

Enrollment and overall management of programs will be handled by the leadership team of the Manchester Family YMCA.  Under the Y’s leadership, the YMCA Mary Tyler McClenahan Child Development Center will be equipped and licensed to serve up to 154 children and their families.  Infant care, preschool and before- and after-school care will be provided, as well as on-site swimming and pee wee sports camp.

“Quality and affordability are the cornerstones of our mission to change lives and transform communities, and the YMCA represents the best of both of these,” said Bob Newman, vice president and chief operating officer of BHC.  “The Y’s experience and commitment to strengthening communities will be a terrific asset to Winchester Greens, and the surrounding community at large will enjoy the services offered at this state-of-the-art facility.”

Mary Tyler McClenahan, co-founder of BHC, believed a healthy community can affect a child’s life in the best of ways.

The 13,500-square-foot child care center is located at 2700 Bensley Commons Boulevard and is easily accessible from Jefferson Davis Highway.  For enrollment information, contact 804-271-0590.
