Mary Kay has been with Better Housing Coalition since May 2006.  After nearly ten years in various capacities with Virginia Power, Mary Kay began her work in the housing industry in the early 1990’s as the founding executive director of Interfaith Housing Corporation from 1990- 1993.  She also served as parish administration between 1997 and 2006 at two large Episcopal Churches.  At St. Paul’s Episcopal Church she served as the in-house project manager for the construction and installation of their Rosales pipe organ.  In her work at BHC she has served as Project Manager and Single Family Team Leader for oversight of the single-family development and construction divisions of BHC.  During her tenure, the construction division achieved profitability for the first time.   She was also responsible for asset management for the company.  As Vice President of Operations, she is responsible for all aspects of the property management for the multi-family sites.  Mary Kay received her Accredited Residential Manager (ARM) designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM).  She is a graduate of Longwood College with a degree in business administration and an MBA from the University of Richmond.
