Joseph M. Teefey has been President of Teefey-Collins Consultants, Inc. since 2001, serving as a healthcare consultant and lobbyist. He received his degrees at University of Richmond and the College of William and Mary. Joe began his career as a college professor and coach, moving quickly into directing operations for medical facilities—Convalescent Care, Inc., Brandermill Retirement and Medical Center, the Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services, and Medical College of Virginia. He retired from being the President/CEO of the Virginia Chartered Health Plan. Joe has received numerous awards including a Citation for Volunteerism presented by President Reagan and a Certificate of Recognition for Outstanding Contribution and Leadership presented by Governor Allen. His professional affiliations in healthcare and community activities are equally numerous, and include the American Red Cross and the Faison School.
