If you’re a fan of festive craft beer, delightful desserts turned into architectural masterpieces and a jolly good time for the whole family, ‘yule’ love this event!
The fourth annual Gingerbread House Challenge is ON! This year, we’ve gone digital and once again dare households, neighbors, families, pandemic pods, and small, socially distanced groups to literally display your holiday spirit and creativity by constructing a gingerbread house centered around the 2020 theme, ‘Hometown Holidays’. Note: entries are not limited to houses, so let those creative juices flow! (See important dates to know, below!)
As added enticement to compete, this year we have waived the entry fee! In true Gingerbread House Challenge fashion, teams will compete for glory and prizes as before. As the Gingerbread Challenge is a fundraiser which supports our mission, each team is asked to pursue the goal of raising $250 for their creation throughout the month of November. The top fundraising entry will take home the People’s Choice award – an amazing prize pack from our friends at Hardywood Park Craft Brewery. It will also vie for the juried grand prize of $1,000 cash!
New to fundraising? Don’t worry! We have made it easy for you to be successful. You’ll be supplied with your own online team fundraising page to share with those in your networks! We’ve got you covered!
Hosted by BHCyp, the young professionals board of the Better Housing Coalition, 100% of proceeds will support BHCs mission of changing lives and transforming communities through high-quality affordable housing.

Be a part of the action and support a great cause. Team sizes aren’t limited, but we recommend including only those within your “pandemic pod” because we want you all to feel comfortable and stay safe through the holidays. Also new this year: individuals can form a one-person team! The Competitor Entry Form must be returned by Nov. 27th, and one member must be designated the Team Captain. Team Captains must be 21 years of age or older since our friends at Hardywood are providing a lot of great swag and prizes!
In a year when the pandemic has made a stable home more important than ever, we are tirelessly working to provide safe, affordable homes for our neighbors of modest means.
Many thanks to our sweet sponsors!
Sponsorships are still available!
Beer. Dessert. Cut-throat holiday competition. What more could you ask for???
Sponsors of the event will be highly visible to a diverse crowd as multiple event posts and sponsor shout-outs are distributed throughout October, November and early December on our social media channels: Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
