Karen Buchanan

Karen Buchanan is a Senior Vice President and a Market Trust Executive at Bank
of America Private Bank based in Richmond, Virginia. Karen leads a team of Trust
Officers who support clients across the Virginia market by delivering
comprehensive wealth planning and fiduciary advice to high-net-worth clients
and their families. Karen plays an integral role with both clients and colleagues;
she facilitates a more effective engagement with the services and strategies
available through the bank, amplifying the client experience.

Karen understands the opportunities and challenges that can accompany
significant wealth. She looks to channel the breadth of local resources and
extensive capabilities of the bank, resulting in robust strategies that unify
multiple disciplines: investment management, trust and estate planning services,
credit and lending through Bank of America, N.A., executive services, family office
services and philanthropy. Karen points to the fiduciary standard as a critical
foundation of the bank’s value to clients.

Karen has worked in the financial services industry since 1984, Prior to joining
Bank of America Private Bank ((formerly U.S. Trust) in 2008, she served in various
roles focusing on personal and charitable trust administration at Wachovia Bank
(formerly Central Fidelity Bank) helping give her experience and insight into the
wealth management needs of high-net-worth individuals and families.
Karen received her Bachelor of Science in business administration with a
concentration in finance from Old Dominion University. Additionally, Karen holds
the Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor (CTFA) designation which is sponsored
by the ABA Institute of Certified Bankers.

Karen serves on the board of Better Housing Coalition and is an active member
of the Richmond Trust Administrators Council.
