Charrise Hart

Vice President of Advancement

Charrise Hart is a nonprofit executive with 15+ years of experience advancing mission-driven strategies across the social impact sector. Her work focuses on unlocking philanthropic investments and turning bold vision into measurable change. She currently serves as Vice President of Advancement at the Better Housing Coalition, where she leads fundraising, donor engagement, and brand strategy to expand affordable housing and economic mobility across Greater Richmond.

 

Previously, Charrise held leadership roles with national and community-based organizations, including Interim Chief Development Officer at the Thurgood Marshall College Fund, where she strengthened donor relationships and supported efforts to elevate HBCUs. As CEO of Ready for School, Ready for Life, she led a cradle-to-career initiative serving 20,000 children and families annually, building cross-sector partnerships to advance early childhood systems. Earlier, she held executive roles at YWCAs in North Carolina, championing community-based programs and securing significant funding to expand services.

 

Charrise serves on the Board of Advisors for the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Social Work and as Finance Co-Chair of the World YWCA Service Council. She earned an MSW from UNC-Chapel Hill and an MBA from Wake Forest University.
